I wonder what made his first wife make that claim anyway. It's been years since their divorce, decades...I wonder why now...
If she found out he got married and didn't have the divorce decree, she might've just decided to get some revenge and/or blackmail him... I doubt she can do a whole lot from Mexico, though, even if she does have the marriage certificate. If a previous marriage is not registered in another country, chances are pretty good for getting away with a new marriage without even being divorced.
Heck, nobody asks for divorce decrees in AZ when issuing a marriage license!

Reason: addition
Hell, I think I might frame my decree. I found the license and all that crap the other day. So I put it in the safe along with the divorce papers in one spot even.
You know, MM, I have a very hard time with empathy and sympathy for morons. This is a vital document! Anybody with some noticeable traces of gray matter would have it, even if he came here through the effing desert! It's his responsibility first to have his important papers.
I have to agree. How can someone get divorced and NOT have the papers? Ye gods, I have all of that in triplicate!
Well, I just don't understand then how he can say that they have no records! I understand it's a third-world country, but they couldn't be entirely uncivilized.
It's not that uncivilized. Sorry, I think he has something to hide.
Maybe he should "wet their beaks" so they could put some effort in finding it.
You're probably right, but he has to be there.
I do remember running between 2 institutions one of which had to "prove" my Dad had passed away in a vicious circle. Good thing my cousin helped me. My other option was making a major scene and I'm not sure even if that was gonna help.
