I am a black man. I find women of all races attractive. I like music (Eric Clapton, Moody Blues, ELO, the Beatles, etc) that I feel is not "normal" for black culture, as well as activities such as camping, rollercoasters etc.
Sometimes I feel almost isolated, almost on a no man's land so to speak
or is it all in my head
I'm a white girl, I like horseback riding, rap music and fried chicken LOL Does that make ME abnormal? See how silly it sounds?
Your skin color has nothing to do with your taste in music, hobbies, food, etc. I know plenty of black men and women that enjoy camping, and the music you like to listen to.
Moreso I'd say because you are from down south, I'd almost expect that you like the music you do, etc... almost like a geographical / cultural thing.
I grew up with a Scottish mother but our best friends my entire childhood into adulthood were all from Tennessee, we ate their food, listened to their music, (and our own) talk about abnormal if there were any time to say it LOL
Don't worry about what's normal and not, be yourself, continue doing the things you enjoy doing and you will find someone to spend your time with...

Opposites do attract. You might be in good position to date the kind of person who wants to broaden their horizons or grow in another direction. You have to be accepting of the crowd. one of my idols said "I'm gonna wave my freak flag high" It had to be pretty hard to do in Harlem back in the day.
I love that and I'm going to use it when I'm feeling down. I'm white and I adore African folk music--is that weird? If it is, I don't give a rip b/c I love what I love and that's the way it's going to be.

It's all in your head. I don't like to look at music and hobbies in terms of race. I like what I like and that's it.
This used to be a big issue with me when I was younger but once I went to college that all changed. It will get better once you get older. Trust me on this.

You should just do YOU. In the end, nobody really cares.
