I just want to say that all women are very different, and some women simply aren't the orgasmic kind. I have known women who never had an orgasm, though they were loathe to admit it. Why that is, is subject to debate, but those women do exist. And others have orgasm quite easily, the majority of the time they have sex. There really is a very wide range.

Many women feel that they are in charge of their own orgasms. It's not up to their partner to "give" them one, like a gift, so it doesn't become an "expectation".
Some of us can even have one unaccompanied by a man! Shhhhh! It's a secret!
You mean ask your girlfriend? It shouldn't be awkward at all. If you're in a intimate relationship with someone, I would think that at some point during the course of "events", it would become known, either by you asking or her telling.
Of course if you aren't already having sex with the person, then you probably shouldn't say anything.
Oh. Oh... ohohoh. Oooo! Wait. What were you saying?
