What I hate more is how during the holidays everyone, not just friends and family but even acquaintances and such seem super friendly and happy... and then after that New Years ball drops, it's back to business as usual, people not giving a **** for their fellow person or anything.

It's a farce.

Oh my gosh NYE is the WORST!!! People make such a huge deal with all their resolutions and goals. It’s just another day as far as I’m concerned. I don’t say “I had a good year” or “I had a bad year”, they all just run as one for me!

I kinda like the idea of setting goals for oneself, for instance I plan on quitting smoking for good by the turn of the year.

Good years / bad years, frankly my years are split down the middle every time.

I think it's nice that people spend a few weeks on their best behavior, trying to embody the Christmas spirit. It's the time of year when people are at their best. Even if it is a farce, and I don't agree that it is, what a pleasant and refreshing change for the rest of us.

It is refreshing, but I just wish people kept it up. I'm sure plenty are genuinely doing it (rather than because they don't wanna be Mr. Grinch) but it'd still be nice. Kinda like Valentine's Day or Veteran's Day.

I never set myself any resolutions. I know myself too well. I am weak and setting myself goals will just lead to disappointment. It's that simple, really.

Pff, disappoint yourself enough times and it becomes the norm... so when you do fulfill a resolution it feels extra-good :P

I’m more of a spontaneous do-er. It does feel good!

I love the holidays. I don't let them stress me out. I love buying presents for people, but I don't spend more than I can afford. I am easily annoyed, but for some reason, the crowds at the stores don't bother me during the holidays. I have a small family and I actually enjoy spending time with them.

I will say that a white Christmas is highly overrated. After our Christmas blizzard last year, I wouldn't cry if I never saw snow again (too late!). However, I would hate to spend Christmas anywhere warm.
