I have never been unfaithful, but this book (I haven’t read it, just the summary is enough! ) gave me some clarity on certain feelings I have had in the past.

I have always felt like something was wrong with me in relationships because even though I always had a loving partner, I still yearned for the companionship of others.

Now I see that’s not so uncommon. I am not a bad person, just a human being.

Ask for it from him for Christmas just to see his reaction . For added fun make sure you highlight passages talking about women with multiple lovers

The link leads to "The Ethical S l u t," which is another great book - another one that I wish everyone would read. I think a lot of America's social problems with crime, abuse, etc. actually stem from (or are at least are made worse because of) our prudish/obsessive view of sexuality. Too many people are alienated from their own sensual bodies and erotic desires, which leads to a variety of mental/emotional disorders which then lead to a great deal of violent and/or generally hurtful behavior.

BTW: My own brief essay "The Ethical Swinger" pays homage to The Ethical S l u t, but it focuses specifically on swinging and even more specifically on a couple of arguments people often use when they claim that swinging is unethical.

Nice work again, Gaylen. I especially liked this little part:
This is not to say that open relationships somehow guarantee that people will never be impulsive or make bad sexual choices, but it does suggest that a sense of freedom – a sense of having more options – can contribute in the long run to making better sexual choices, on average, when compared to the feeling that many people have of being trapped in a sexually dead monogamous marriage

The books sounds fascinating. I put a hold on it at the library, so I'll probably start reading it next week.
