Curious to hear from those who have had makeovers (not talking about plastic surgery necessarily here- more adjustments in hair, clothing, makeup, etc)...relating to how such changes resulted in them receiving more attention from the opposite sex.
This is more regarding the previous Plain-Jane or even Average Joe types.
Up until my early 20s I had zero sense of style, and I usually looked mismatched when I would wear clothes. Not to mention the fact that I had frizzy long hair and was slightly overweight. Not exactly a look to be proud of.
I guess as the years have gone on, I've learned a thing or two about exercise and flattering hairstyles, as well as wearing clothing that is pretty well-coordinated.
I definitely have seen an increase in being hit on between then and now. Not that it's necessarily a good thing; a lot of the guys who have hit on me have either been jerks, or have been insecure losers. But it IS a nice ego boost nonetheless.

Any woman that puts a little makeup on, and fixes her hair is naturally going to feel better about herself, versus` sitting around in her flannel jammies, therfore...she will stand a little taller and more confident, and the opposite sex will notice....not that the opposite sex would not notice a Plain-Jane, or average Joe. (shrugs) I don`t wear alot of makeup and spend hours on myself to make myself feel good to go out in public, but then again..I`m not trying to attract the opposite sex either! HAR HAR!
I recently took an older friend of mine shopping for a more updated look, took her to get her hair & makeup done & showed her how to do her makeup. Oh my goodness, extreme change! She looks fabulous & is definitely getting more attention now, but to build on what Yankee said, she feels better too
Courtney
Edit: My friend that I made over just called me to tell me that she has a date tonight, did her own hair & makeup & looks like a million bucks

Well, I lost the mustache and I continue to make small gains in my weight loss goals. I'm having my hair cut and styled by a pro instead of just stopping into the nearest Great Clips. She actually used wax on my eyebrows (that was a first) and we slightly colored my hair to cover some gray. So far, no takers. I've been thinking that the next step is to update my wardrobe a bit. I usually go out clean-shaven with black jeans, a polo shirt, and my best sneakers or hiking boots, but I think I need to be dressier. I love how all you women dress up when you go out, and I think I need to start thinking about what I can do to complement that and show some effort on my part.
Don't know what exactly I'll change, but I'll be looking at what the trends are and try to find something similar.
