I'm an American living in Germany and am not going home for Christmas this year.

My friend invited me to go bar-and-club hopping tonight. I've never been out to the clubs during Christmas.

Going out to nightclubs and bars during Christmas Eve. Don't you find this a little odd?

I don't find it strange at all. You're far from home on the holidays, you're entitled to enjoy yourself. Have a good time. Merry Christmas!

Yes, but then again I'm 56. If I were 25 and in your situation you'd have to pour me into the taxi at the end of the night.

Not at all. If you're not spending time with family or religious, go out and have a good time.

Not really. I worked in bars when I was younger. Christmas is a depressing time for many without families so a bar is somewhere to go and mingle with others to ease loneliness. Now if you blew off family and friends to go bar-hopping on Christmas, Id say that was odd.

Tonight, I'll be bar hopping with my best friend who's back from egypt. He's been working there since we graduated last may.

I see my family members every single day. I don't see why I have to hang with them on christmas eve/day.

I don't think it's weird going out or club-hopping on Christmas... in fact, one time on Christmas Day, I went out to the club as it was open that night.

Nope. You're away from home and I don't know if you have family with you or not, but if not, then it's even better that you're going out and having a good time. Do your thing, don't think twice about it.

Bar and club hopping sounds way more fun than sitting in a church on xmas eve.
