I would never get elevator shoes even though I'm not very tall. At least if a woman has had breast augmentation they still stay big when she takes off her bra. When a short guy hops off of his little high heel shoes he's going to look like an idiot.

My father used to wear shoes and boots to make him look bigger. Didn't work, I still could tell he was short. Made my father "think" he was taller, I could tell by the way he acted in them. But reality was and is, he was a short man of 5". Those type of shoes don't impress or fool any women.

Another drawback to elevator shoes would be that if they're adding quite a few inches to your height it's going to make your body appear to be out of proportion. Your belt would appear to be too high around this baby upper body and also your knees would be too high with baby legs above them and daddy long legs below them.

I didn't know they still made those! Are they like the old platforms from the 70s? I hope not as I can't help but wonder why in the world they would come back....not that I wasn't guilty of wearing them back in the day.

Apparently quite a few movie stars wear them and it sounds like the high quality ones attempt to make it look like they're just regular shoes. I happened to stumble across this web site one day: Celebrity Heights - How tall are Celebrities
For whatever reason this guy keeps track of how tall movie stars actually are and which ones have elevator shoes. It seems like a bizarre thing to be interested in but it's entertaining in a weird sort of way.

Really could care less. Most shorter guys who have worn them are VERY AWARE of the major difference just a FEW INCHES of height has on the way people approach you (first impressions). Its not just shorter guys who wear them either. Its a huge industry. If I could afford it, it would get leg lengthening.
