So I've heard a few times that a good way to get a girl is to lure her with poetry. I've heard it once when a spokesman (an author) came and talk to our class back in high school, and again in the Spiderman 2 film. I've never actually tried it, but I will now that I've become less shy and have the chance to talk to a certain someone. But have any of the guys here tried it? How far did it get you with girls? Maybe the gals here can give me some advice, or their experience as well.

I'm not a writer so I have not, and will not ever, tried to reel in a girl with poetry or a love letter of any kind. Life is not a movie. I'd give this some serious thought and wait for some input from the ladies here. That's a move that really puts yourself out there and puts all of your cards on the table. It's a classic romantic gesture but I think it wouldn't go over so well today unless it's written to a girl that has feelings for you already or one that you are in a relationship with at the current time.

For a start the very concept of 'luring girls' is kind of creepy.

If a guy I barely knew started quoting poetry I would be inclined to ignore him. Other women may find it sweet, I find it silly.

Sorry, I could't think of a better word when I made the thread. Maybe I could have just said 'get' the girl instead.

When I was younger I dated two poets. Yes, they made me swoon. They were talented writers. Unfortunately, I lost the album I kept most of their letters in, which makes me sad. My dh is a good writer as well and it was a scoring point. I love writers since I suck at it.

Yeah I had very fiery and brief uhh 'relationship' with a poet. He was a very talented author and artist as well and was totally hot.

I honestly believe that poetry comes from the soul and you really cannot learn to use it as a way to get women.
You either have it or you don't.

But I would give a man A for effort because it is the thought that counts.

Now if f he's actually sincere, A+ and some extra credit. teehee.
