You have to look at the context of being a woman in society to understand the groin issue.
Given the fact that men are typically the perpetrators in terms of violent crimes, we find that women are statistically more vulnerable as a group 24/7:
- domestic violence
- child abuse
- peadophilia & child porn
- murder
- rape
- physical assault
- burglary/theft/etc
etc.........
Accordingly, men's safety (due to physical build and other less overt dynamics) is generally taken for granted, whereas being a women means being constantly aware, on some level, that one is at risk. Thus, it is more exciting and thrilling when men are hurt, because at other times they are usually the ones doing the hurting.
The same theory can be adapted to fit the general heterosexual male attitude towards homosexuality Vs lesbianism. Gay men are seen as more threatening because the penis is involved, thus removing it from heterosexuality and in doing so taking away power from men. On the other hand, two women engaged in sex could be seen as more playful than alarming, because females are more submissive (having a penis means you are aggressive because you thrust and enter, and whilst women can use a strap-on, etc they are fundamentally play acting domination) and not threatening to male sexual power. In contrast, men have appropriated lesbian imagery to become part of heterosexual male fantasy, as the extensive availability of this type of porn demonstrates. Much of the latter involving heterosexual men entering (pun intended) the two female sex scene.
????Men tend to have a much higher rate of dying younger more violent deaths, than women. Women may take mens safety for granted but men sure is hell don't. Go to tell the infantry grunts on the front lines(who is alot more common than rapists and whatnot) that they're alot safer than some club-hopin drama queen on south beach. So I don't think violence be it against men or women should be taken lightly. There is nothing exciting or thrilling in real-life about people getting hurt. You talk as if violent sexual criminals make up a quarter of the male population, when in fact they are probably less than .01%.
I just don't understand the mindset that "guys are bad, so its ok".

...Sigmund? Is that you, Sigmund? By god, I thought you were dead!
It's like you've returned from the hereafter, merged with Andrea Dworkin! Damn it, I knew that it was a bad idea to read this Slavic book of incantations aloud... that's what alcohol will do to a man...

Exactly.
Violence should never be taken lightly. And even this thread apparently solicited numerous examples of videos that people thought were humorous. The majority were of course violence against men.
The only reason it is even remotely seen as funny is because men are secure enough to accept it. It is pathetic that women cannot accept the same and that needs to change.

I was gonna say men are still overwhelmingly the victim of violence - mostly from other males, of course. If a man is being geniunely abused by his wife or girlfriend most people don't take it seriously. Even if the woman is beating him unconscious, or threatens to stab him.

What is "pathetic" is your lack of comprehension on this subject.
Most women simply do not find watching someone get hit in the groin funny.
The fact that we don't find this funny in NO WAY makes us "insecure"
While young I once kicked a girl in the cratch at a party during a mock kung fu fight (semi on accident... I didn't mean to kick so hard and my aim was slightly off) and she immediately peed her pants and cried. I was pretty shocked! All the parents were pretty shocked too. Nobody laughed... I hid upstairs for the rest of the day as the villain.
I also dug a volleyball into a guy's crotch and he doubled over in pain, rolling on the ground. Everyone immediately laughed. I thought it was pretty hilarious and I was the hero.
The key here is society's reaction to it. The guy sure wasn't laughing, but he couldn't complain because everyone was already busy laughing at his expense. So as not to seem like a crybaby, he had to suck it up and act like it was cool.
I'm not sure about the girl... but maybe it hurt and crying is an acceptable first response to pain for women. So though I didn't think I kicked her that hard, she cried anyways... and maybe the peeing her pants part didn't help either... but once a girl cries nobody is gonna laugh at that. It's like a mood killer.
I don't think it has to do with security. Just with society's preset expectations for each gender.
The reason it wouldn't be funny for a women like Oprah or Hillary to have a groin kick is that there's nothing to kick there. Now maybe a boob kick would be funny?!?!? But it wouldn't hurt nearly as bad if a woman was kick in the groin as it would be for a man. So no the pain wouldn't be there so it wouldn't be funny. Sick, huh?
This is really simple. If you are going to kick one gender in the crotch and laugh, then you need to be ablet to kick the other gender in the crotch and laugh too.
And if one is horrific and abusive, then so is the other.
It is that simple. Get a clue.
