Yeah, it did. Just forget it! It's stupid of me to try to squeeze orange juice out of a lemon. You'd think I should know better than that having had more than enough experience. It's sickening to admit I'm an undying optimist evidently, contrary to what everybody believes!

"...and in doing nothing, he achieves everything..."

If I were a shoe-repair person, but I didn't have any of my tools with me, would you honestly expect me to fix your broken heel? If I were a retired pharmacist would you call me for a prescription?

Doing what I used to do required time and materials - plenty of both. I was IN the life, doing it and dreaming it and breathing it 24/7. I had the time and the tools, the reference works, and was current with everything in my field.

...now I'm a glorified club floorman with delusions of grandeur.

Pray allow me my petty failures and my fading memories. I think it better they rest in peace, since I am no longer that person.

Alright, I guess I can't argue with that. However, your helpfulness is generally underwhelming.

We both got some movie gift certs for Christmas, so we're planning on doing a couple of movie marathons at the theaters to see the Oscar-nominated ones. I didn't really want to see The Social Network because I'm not interested in the subject matter, but everyone's raving about it, and Chow wants to see it, so I guess we will. I'll probably end up loving it.

I just watched Wild Is the Wind the other day (1957), with Anthony Quinn, Anna Magnani, and Tony Franciosa. Anthony Quinn kept reminding me of Javier Bardem.

Thanks, Hawk. I just put it in our Netflix queue. It's available for instant streaming, so maybe we can watch it tonight.

LOL, I do this all the time. Now I'll get on an Anthony Quinn kick and watch every movie he's ever been in. I actually wanted to see the other movie because I'd always heard about Anna Magnani but never saw any of her movies (that I recall). I thought she was very natural in it, very good.

Always heard of it, but never saw it. I'll add it, too.

I think you must watch more movies than we do.

Just take it one post at a time.
It's all about the journey, not the destination.
