When I see a guy with an expensive sporty car I think he is a poser who has no personality and tries to impress superficial women and gold diggers.

I think you are just jealous like most of the people posting similar stuff.

I live near Malibu and sometimes just sit at Starbucks admiring the nice cars driving by. Why would a millionaire drive a regular car? Just so people like you don't judge him?

I sometimes get a luxury car on the weekend from work and it is just fun cruising around in a super comfortable car that makes you smile once you step on the pedal. Feels much better than my bumpy GTI and I couldn't care less what people think of me.

My reaction when I see an expensive sports car drive by: wow, nice car. I wish it was mine but without the driver (they are usually not very handsome).

Hence the shiny status symbol

But really, many people buy the car they can afford. Some can afford an attention grabbing car.

My friends in college always felt like guys who drive expensive sports cars do it to compensate for a small appendage below the waist. When we see our coworkers driving Porsche and BMW sports cars, we tend to laugh at them a bit because there is a sense that they are doing it to increase their chances of getting chicks (rather than for the pure joy of driving)... and that he probably knows nothing about working on cars.

But if some guy has a nice classic collector racing car or a motorcycle, that is somehow viewed as much less douchey.
Cars aren't a big deal to me. But, when I see anyone driving an expensive car, I do wonder if they are adequately funding their retirement accounts. Ditto if they have paid for expensive modifications to a car.

Can I tweak the topic just a wee bit--in the name of self-interest, of course! LOL.

I am a 40-something white guy, fit, slender, I dress casual-professional.

So what do you women think when you see a guy like that on a sweet motorcycle? I have a Honda Shadow ACE 1100?

Mind you, I am not of the traditional Harley, biker's garb, bearded, fat (sounds harsh, but why are they always?). I am clean-shaven. I DO wear a leather bomber jacket on my bike but no MC gang patches.

Just curious. Thank you!

This reminds me of that YouTube video where a guy hits on girls and how they reject him until they see his flashy lambo parked on the side and how quickly their attitude towards him change. I'll look for that video and post it here later.

We sadly live in a superficial world where many girls out there will turn heads when the rich guy in his expensive car drives by or where many guys will turn heads when they see a sexy girl showing skin. Of course, there are exceptions out there. A guy driving an expensive car will get lots of attention from women just like a sexy girl showing skin would.

If its a RED sports car, I automatically think "dick don't work"

I know very little about cars so it wouldn't even phase me. I'm more interest in dating people than cars.
