I would think cute is preferable to hideous or butt ugly. Cute means a guy looks good. What could be wrong with that? Whether or not the cute guy crosses over to "sexy and someone I have to get to know better" depends on how he acts.
guys sometimes complain about stupid things, I used to get upset when girls would call me Handsome I was looking for something somehow better than that...lol like gorgeus, man I was full of myself back then
who wants to tell him he's "handsome and sexy"? I'm sure he already knows that.
You would be surprised, some people underestimate their value in that regard. Take for example a girl I was seeing, trust me she was hot.
But in her own mind, (as I got to know her better) she certainly didn't see herself that way.
I see glimpses of cuteness in my husband's mannerisms and expressions. He isn't cute very often, but he does have his cute moments.
