Someone once told me that friendship lasts longer than love (romantic relationships/marriage). Do you agree or disagree? If so, why or why not?

My longest active friendship at the moment is 6-7 years the longest I've ever "been with anyone romanticly" is about a few days or so.

My longest friendship, 42 years. My longest love (not relationship), 11 years.
Your premise may be correct, but I think some loves last as long or longer.

We were friends for 6 years, got married, and have remained friends for 36 years.

There's less pressure on friendships, so they tend to last longer.

My marriage is a friendship and it's romantic too.
I really don't know why you're comparing apples to oranges and trying to justify why "being friends" is better than being lovers.
Friendships can dissolve just as easily as a romantic relationship.
And I hope that you're friends with whoever you're romantic with as well.

Hi,
I'm not trying to justify anything. I was simply asking a question and did not state how I felt about it one way or another. Re-read what I wrote below:

Which lasts longer, a Ford or a Chevy?
It all depends upon the maintenance you put into it.

My answer was directed toward no-one in particular.
And I did answer your question:

Since any good friendship will have a component of love, and any great love will have a component of friendship I think the question is kind of pointless.
Some relationships will last a lifetime, some will have a time and season.
