I enjoy listening to RnB, primarily the smooth stuff like Keyshia Coles "I Remember", or Heather Headleys "I Wish I Wasn't".

I find these songs relaxing despite their sad overtones.
However, I drop these titles in conversations from time-to-time and some will automatically think I just broke up with someone or, if for some reason already assume I'm single, am going to cut myself.

So after these little incidents, I just name happy-songs and go from there.
It's like smooth, sad RnB has become another form of "emo" music for some.

As for my current dating/relationship situation, I've witnessed too many train-wrecks in my short life that have made me a little more careful than others.
Waiting for the right thing to happen/come along.

Yeah, I agree with Mir! Listen to whatever music you like and it doesn't matter if you've never dated or not. Good music is good music.

Well, the only way you could avoid those songs is to never listen to the radio again and filter out the love songs on any music collection you have.

Which means you'll have very little to listen to.

Except the endless collection of "untz-untz-untz-untz-untz-untz" I've accumulated since 8th grade.

I wouldn't call anything Keyshia or Heather sings smooth... I do like at least one song from both artist but they both have rough/strong voices... nice in their own way but not smooth.

But yeah it's quite acceptable to listen to romantic ballads... why not?

listen to your heart contents...Music is healing for the soul.
It makes us feel better, livens up our mood
I listen to music everyday, it sooths my soul
I love R&B, music is very big in our family more than television.
