Good ol' Winston Chruchill said that one (or something similar).
Conservative republicans believe in the "small gov't, everyone look out for themselves" mentality. They are more prone to earn their keep and not take anything for granted. There is a certain dominance about conservatives that I think women would find appealing.
I think liberal democrats are more likely to expect and accept help from others (or the gov't) to get where they are going. They tend to be more reliant, or at least expectant, of assistance. This is a less dominant trait and therefore less attractive to many women. Of course, this is assuming that a) women are attracted to strong, dominant males and b) the man's political philosophies strongly influence his social philosophies.
However, liberals also have a heart so to speak. They are more willing to reach out to those who need it. I think this is very attractive to women. I'm not sure that there really is a clear winner here.
