The pseudo-relationship I had (still never really had a "real") wasn't very lovey-dovey, till it was time to go to sleep. Then, of course, she would get real close and let me be the big spoon and take my hand.
I also agree that, at least in my relationship, showing affection is really more about emotional closeness and caring and being cared about than it is about anything strictly sexual.
I was with a very cold man for years. He wasn't interested in anything romantic or affectionate.
The man I'm with now is his polar opposite. And I love it! He is all the things I had hoped existed in a man. He loves to be romantic and affectionate. He even loves sex and being touched. I am a lucky girl!
As far as the PDA thing goes, we are PG. In public, he will hold my hand, and kiss and hug me but that's it. There's nothing wrong with being publicly acceptable. But in private, anything goes as long as we are both having a good time.
And I pray daily that he will never change!
