Me too...I met my current boyfriend on POF. I live in Oxnard and he lived in San Diego at the time. We met up at the Santa Ana Zoo which is about the half way point. 11 months strong...can't complain! First date was 11 hours long....2nd day was a weekend getaway....all is well!
Sahara desert, in Morocco but not far from border with Algeria.
It rained the night we met. The local people were saying that it hadn't rained there for four years.
The next morning he said he loved me and asked me to marry him. I said yes. My main criteria for saying yes was that he's my age (7 months older); I didn't know anything else about him. I just thought, "I can do this." Then we were apart, far apart for nearly three years. Finally he came to America and I settled us in Louisville, KY. In August we will be married for three years...
When I look back to our "courtship" I think, "Louisville? WTF?"
But he's totally open to assimilating to America. I worry so much about that for no reason. All is not perfect, not easy, but we are doing well, better than what most sane people expect.
Met my wife at a concert but didn't realize it until we met again online and we started talking about a concert, realized it was the same concert, compared our ticket stubs (this was seven years later), and then we realized we had spoken to each other for quite some time at the concert (we sat next to each other). Adorable!
I met my partner 8 years ago this October on gay.com. We chatted for a hour and met the next day for a dinner and movie. The movie we saw was " The Rundown" with the "Rock" and I was thinking during the movie he didnt exactly pick a romantic movie.
I never in my life I have met someone that I can mesh so well with and truly consider my best friend. Pookie is my soul-mate
