This question is for the guys. I get fake numbers all of the time when I approach women.

Sorry, not a guy! Maybe some women are freaked out about giving their digits to someone they've just met. Why don't you give them your number instead.

I'm not sure how many guys are going to fess up, there are many poseurs in this particular forum.

I've gotten fake numbers, and it's not very nice.
I've also gotten lots of similar excuses:
- I don't have a cell phone (yeah right)
- I don't bring my phone with me (yeah right)
- I'm not pursuing a relationship now (but she was with another guy 2 days later)
- etc...

And sometimes, they would give me the REAL number, but would not answer my calls or texts. So why did you give it to me then?

Life is not fair... T_T

I've had two women lie about their names to me.

When the iPhone first came out, This Girl in the elevator was admiring my new phone, and I was showing her all the features of it, I said to her "The iPhone had Everything on it, but your phone #"

Most of the times, I ask a girl for a email address, more then a phone #, this is a 'safer' way for me maintain contact in a non threatening way.

It works A LOT better then getting 'digits'

Jonathan

PS: MY FAVORITE "FAKE NUMBER"

Default *blushing very badly*

Okay so I did this once or twice but only to the super pushy guy who wont leave you alone.

Everyone else can hear no or sorry I have a boyfriend, but the super pushy guy is just gonna make you like him so you give the fake number to get him off your back.

Sorry guys I feel terrible about it, but yeah I did it. But honestly and TRULY its not a common practice.
