Depends on company policy and what sort of work environment, I guess (also hopefully neither of you are married or otherwise committed)....when I was in the Navy Reserves it would have been a huge, giant no-no.

Then why are you contemplating it (or why did you do it?) Just because you want something doesn't mean you have to act on that desire. It's one of the things that seperates humans from apes, you know?
Either say to hell with the consequences and make like a monkey with your married boss, or do the adult thing and don't have sex with a married man in an environment where there are serious consequences for doing so.
Sort of seems like a no-brainer to me...looks like you are seeking validation or wanting to hear stories about how it all turned out fine for everyone?
I'd say the worst that can happen is that the personal relationship goes sour and the sourness spills over to the office. I've seen it happen. Somehow the chick actually thought she wouldn't get fired when she went to HR and refused to work with the guy.
She learned the hard way: if you're not mature enough to rise above animal instincts from the get-go, you probably aren't mature enough to handle the breakup-at-work well either.

Personally, I think you'r worrying too much about your job. If you aren't going to live, what's the point? If you're not attached to anyone, take advantage of your worthless boss (worthless if he actually goes through with it being married).
