Why do so many men assume this? Yeah sure, there are some women who care about size, and there are other's who don't. Just like anything else in life, there are a variety of opinions and preferences. And for a man to assume he can speak for ALL women? That's just stupid.
My experience has gone in both directions. Some women are like @$#@#$ ZOMG YYYEEESSS!!!! and others are like "oh, hell no that's not going in me!" with most somewhere in the middle. Some of my exes have liked my manhood more than they liked me, and others called off relationships because sex was too much work/too painful/didn't even happen in the first place (seriously).
Being well-endowed (as a guy or girl) is like being born a certain height or with a certain hair or eye color... it just happens, and you have no choice but to take the good with the bad. Some people will think it's awesome, others will think it's grotesque, and most just won't be paying enough attention in the first place to care.
Don't worry, you're not the only one trying to make a subtle or not-so-subtle impression here.
Again, just adding to the discussion. I've got nothing to gain or lose one way or the other by saying I'm on either end of the spectrum, just relating my experiences and the zen that's come from them.

Do you always add to the discussion on threads that start with "Women only" and then discuss the size of your penis? How convenient of you to slip that in.
