He's semi-retired, lives in a rural area, and is bored out of his mind. I really hope I don't end up that way when I retire.......if I live that long

Semi retired is probably the ticket... I don't know if I'll be able to retire fully..... besides, I think working part time might be good to help keep you mind sharp.... LOL

IDK... we'll have to see when I'm that age.

He doesn't have squat for retirement so he survives off SS and works when he wants extra cash. My parents are worse off, they sit around and gripe about money. One medical emergency and they're ruined. I noticed not doing anything really narrows your perspective, always wind up in the same circle of topic.

I finish their sentences like, "What's worse than a yeast infection." and I'll jump in and say, "Visiting my parents."

LOL, I know exactly what you mean.

Yeah, that's really scary, not having any cushion for emergencies.

There is no flipping way I'd want to totally retire. I'd have to do something as long as I possibly could.

I watched The Endless Summer for the first time. I didn't realize it had a humorous tone to it. I thought it was interesting... Now I'm trying to make Chow watch it with me.
