IIRC, only 50% of students actually graduate, so no, not anyone can graduate these days.
Any way, my dh did not have a degree when we met. It was a condition of our marriage, tho. He just finished a BS in chemistry. Whether he'll finish his Master's is up for debate, but I don't care. If it's important to him, then he should do it...ideally it will be paid for by his employer.
If I were him, I'd jump at the chance to finish my Master's (no need to since that's already done) if my employer is going to pay for it. He'll essentially get a free education
One of the guys that has some alphabet soup after his name and is "actually" smart is our beloved monk....... a few others.... not so sure about..... the fires of envy aren't exactly brewing in me if you follow.
There are people with very high incomes who made it to the top in their business through hard work and with no tools other than their honor and a willingness to try as best they could. No amount of paper can define a man, it is his actions that speaks to what he is or is not.
thank you crabman.............nothing more to see folks

True. My employer pays for education, but ugh, the thought of taking classes with a F/T job. I give folk that do that a lot of credit. Maybe my dh will have the energy for it.
A degree is merely a piece of paper, it's what you do with that education. Sometimes being smart and knowing the right people are more beneficial in getting a good job these days.

I've done that quite a bit back in my 20's.... now I'm early 40's.... I just don't think I have the energy to go to night school...... maybe take something online, but to fight parking and sit in class for 3 hour 2 or 3 times a week... IDK.... not feeling that.....
College would be nice, but as long as she's a person who has a love of learning I'd be down with her. If she likes watching Discovery, History, going to museums, reading things on somewhat science-oriented sites, keeping up to date with current events, that's great. Especially if she also reads for fun.
