Being dumb about money is what you plan to do because you'll be paying for a loooot of first dates without seeing second ones or anything other than that. You just don't get it. Nothing personal... it looks like many Americans don't... A first date is not the place to "seize" financial opportunities. It's a place to "seize" that opportunity in front of you.
Too late. Maybe you can ask a mod... It's not that big of a deal.

I agree. If a person is worried about how using a coupon will look, he or she can go find the waitstaff and take care of it somewhere out of sight. There are ways to use coupons without looking cheap. I like the idea of using a two-fer or similar coupon as a date suggestion too.
On our 5th or so date, my girlfriend whipped out a groupon. Imagine the gleeful look on my face when I realized dinner/drinks was only going to cost me 10 bucks instead of 50! After that I knew she was a keeper.
