Ok, so we've established here that I need to take a break from "dating", but I am curious to try speed dating. Of course I would have no expectations whatsoever, but I wonder if it would be just something fun to do?
Has anyone tried it? Is it awful? I went to a Lock and Key party a few months ago that was totally lame, so I'm hoping it's a notch above that.

What do you think? Should I do it??

I've never tried it, and it hasn't appealed to me - I prefer a slower pace, and email/chat before meeting.

Unless by speed dating you mean how long to it takes to get from "Hello," to "My place or yours?"

I tried speed dating once. All I did was babble, sweat and twitch my eyes. I don't know - maybe it was a bad batch.

Now I'm just into weed dating.

ok, I was about 85% on board, but after reading just the few comments, I think I'll pass!!! It was just a thought.
Plus, none of my friends will go with me, so I would feel awkward doing it alone anyway!

That's one way to smoke out the undesirables.

My friend did it once. She didn't find anyone romantically, but had a good time and ended up having a girls night out after with other single girls that were there. She said it was the funniest dating try out she ever did. The one she tried was really casual. I don't know if people run them differently or what. Life is for making fun stories to tell later on. I think you should be a lab rat for us and report back.

What do you have to lose? At least the guys will already be there so no BS car stories. Hee hee!

This fast-food, drive-through, salad-in-a-cup BS goes against my core. If I'm that desperate for a man, I'd sooner offer my free services at a hotel bar.

You'll never get a chance to really get to know whether a person might be a good match, so what's the point? Unless it's just a game. But one has to think fast (both of them actually have to talk fast and think fast and that's no fun for me)
