Often I am so clueless took me 9 years to realize this girl was flirting with me in highschool (dating, how to)

A while back I was thinking whether there was time in my life where a girl actually hit on me. I would have said no, until I remembered this girl back in High School. Analyzing my memories here are 3 things that seem indicate she was flirting with me:
1.) She showed me picture of her in bikinis and ask me if she looked hot! I remember saying she did but wasn't sure why she was even asking me.
2.) She seemed to touch me for no real reason. For example, once she grabbed my hand so that according she could see the time on my watch. Heck I though that was usual since there were 2 big clocks easily visible in that classroom.
3.) She came over to talk to me when we really didn't need to talk. I think some talk revolved around what I thought about girls and how she was looking that day.
Back then and until recently I didn't even realized she was most likely flirting. I was definitely pretty clueless back in high school and through most of life. I was a big geek back in high school and found it quite usual when any girl started to talk to me. Even these days I am still fairly inexperience when comes to reading girls! Wonder if one of these days I will actually figure how how to read girls?
Heh, I had that happen in high school once or twice. I remember this cute girl who'd been friendly to me junior and senior years, we got along pretty well. Always going out of her way to be real nice to me. Come graduation week she asks me if I'd like to walk down the aisle with her. No, not that kind of walking down the aisle, just walking down the aisle to take our seats for the graduation ceremony (everyone walks in in a pair or trio).

The first one made me chuckle. I too have pondered if a girl ever flirted with me in high school. I remember this one girl in my English class in my Junior year that would give me a stick of gum everyday for the whole semester. Heck she even went as far as giving me a Reese's Cup(MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CANDY IN THE WORLD). And she always wanted me to sit next to her. Total cutey-patooty too!
There are probably a ton of guys who missed signs of flirting back then. Not all, but a lot!
I remember one girl in particular who tried to flirt with me a lot. Initially I was clueless, but eventually I figured it out. I did not feel an attraction, so I really didn't act on it. Not because she wasn't good looking either, but I just had not reached apoint in my life where I was interested in dating or flirting yet.
It took you nine years in high school to realize this?
Don't feel too bad. Apart from those who are social butterflies, or just great with people, the rest of us are clueless, once or twice (or many times).
I'd say better late than never because now you have a better idea of what to look for when it comes to flirting.
Now, how and when to apply that knowledge becomes the question.
