I don't think buying her cigs and wine were necessay, that should be on her tab not yours however the gentleman should pay for all dates - if he can't afford that much now imagine what type of husband material he will be - either a momma boy or always a poor provider should children come into the picture.

But what if there is no second date? What if the woman doesn't like him enough to go out with him again? Does he get to send her a bill for her half of the meal?

I can assure that the size of what many men DO use to measure their self-worth is not as important as they seem to think it is.

As for forgetting your wallet, nice scam you've got going there. Are you proud of it?

And why should men pay for all dates? We are nearing a society where women make as much money as men. Most women are working. The glass ceiling is breaking away. Yet women go retro when it comes time for paying for the dinner bill?

What type of mother does this make? The one who always says, "Go to your father." when things happen. Because they have relied on the man for everything else. Hopefully this woman will at least know how to do the dishes!

haha It's not a scam. If you'd know me beyond reading one post and jumping to conclusions, you'd know that.

Men shouldn't pay for all dates, but they should pay for the ones that they initiated. In that situation, they are the host and the woman is the guest. You wouldn't invite people to a dinner party and expect them to provide their own food.

That’s right. A nice gesture from her part instead of making him wait long periods to test him or whatever. Like you said, it is simply a "thanks for the first date" kind of thing.

If there is no second date, too bad. I remember being asked by this girl when I was in Japan. The date did not go as I expected. Hours later I simply noticed how our way of having fun was quite different. Still, I contributed to expenses and by the end of the date we both happily said our goodbyes and after that met casually with friends or at school but didn’t talk about another date.

That is why, it is recommended for women to not have sex right away and later feel bad. Same way for guys when they are told to not spend their paycheck at a woman right off the bat and later feel used. If the guy makes a drama because he didn’t get laid after the date, well, good riddance. If the girl makes a drama because a guy didn’t take her to a fancy place for a date, good riddance.

It's a scam. You know it. I know it. We all know it. Grown men do not forget their wallets, and if they do, it happens once, they are absolutely mortified, they give the manager their credit card number, and they never, ever do it again.

Shame on you.

What do you mean by not spend my paycheck right off the bat? I would hope most guys paychecks are more than $30 to $50.

Very good advice.
