Well, in the name of honesty, I would say: "Yes, I am. Would you like us to be exclusive?"
Or, if you are really interested and afraid that he might get upset that you are seeing others, too, just say: "No" and then ask him why he wants to know.

Yes. I can't think of a reason to lie to somebody about that.

In that phase of life I stated it right off the bat. I didn't want to give false impressions. But I know friends who lied about that to avoid drama or keep a guy around.
I don't date more than one man at a time- not because I think it's morally wrong, I just can't. If I like someone enough to be dating him, I don't have room for anybody else in my heart. Actually dating someone is different from getting to know several guys, so I don't see myself in that situation.

He's asking because he's suspicious and he either (i) suffers a bruised ego at the mere possibility or (ii) is serious about you. Which do you think it is? You may want to handle one of those differently from the other.
