It'll never happen. There's so many that refuse to divorce for religious reasons, as well as those that never marry. A better question is, what percentage of married couples are happily married?
I was watching a news show where they profiled and interviewed people who either can't afford to get divorce, or are divorced and still live in the same house together because they can't afford to split the assets and live off them individually.

I wonder if that becomes a 'friends with benefits' situation?
[anyway, I had a set of neighbors like that next door - 'divorced' but living together]
Well if people keep behaving like spoiled entitlement-minded children, then yes there will be many single people. Who'd wanna put up with that? I know I wouldn't.
Society has completely changed since I was a boy growing up in the 1950's and about 80% of adults were married. It's never going to be like that again and that's not necessarily a bad thing. People often stayed in unhappy marriages because in that era there was a certain stigma to a divorce. Also, women have career opportunities that didn't exist in those days and views about single people being active sexually have also changed and are now the norm. I don't feel that anyone needs to feel obligated to get married as though it's a requirement to be viewed as normal by friends or family members. The majority of young people are already single and I expect that the entire population will be the same way if it isn't already.
