I am curious about what makes a bad or mediocre lover, for both women and men.
For me, I find men who were married a long time tend to have a rote way of doing things, in a particular order, in a particular way, and are less likley to break the mold in bed. Disappointing. I would rather be with someone who shows a little less confidence and more curiosity.
Also I guess I have been lucky because most men I have been with in the past few years since my divorce (at least the over 40s) are completely focused on my response and seem to get immense gratification from that, more than their own O even.
Never had a bad experience, LOL...mediocre would be when the chemistry just isn't there. Most guys aim to please, but now that I'm thinking about it the only thing I'd say they have to remember to do is the warm up....

I've had a few bad experiences. Those are usually the ones where you'd really rather just do it yourself because they're detracting from the experience, not contributing. This is usually characterized by a woman in the "dead starfish" position.
I've also had some mediocre experiences, usually characterized by lack of enthusiasm, very limited repertoire, and/or really bad skill level. The limited repertoire or poor skill levels usually seem to be associated with newly dating women who were in long-term relationships. Some learn, and some don't seem to want to.
