Men are realizing that being in a relationship at high emotional
and sometimes financial capital cost, for consitant sex that becomes
less consistant over time because plain jane did not marry you for passion
but just for social and emotional stability is not a good investment

The only realization here is recognizing the delusional rationalization some of you cling to. The reasoning behind it, as far as I can tell at this point, is diminished intellectual capacity. Maybe you missed the memo, but men are no longer needed for financial security in the west. That's just the way of it. Further, as has been pointed out (with links) a hundred times on this forum, it is men, by and large, that need women for emotional stability. Women tend to have social support systems outside of marriage. Men do not.
As far as what's good for Joe Schmoes or plain Janes, it doesn't really matter. All people do not have equal choices in life. As it stands there is disparity developing on the marriage frontier, as with other areas in western culture.

In reality, Jane probably writes page after page of poetry in her notebook diary about the guy, avoids eye contact with him in the hallway, and ends up going to the prom with a fellow who later turns out to be gay.
If, by some odd twist of fate, she does end up having sex with the guy, it's because he found out through his cousin, who overheard her talking at her locker, that her parents were going to be out of town, saw an easy mark because she blushes every time he looks in her direction, offers to come over to "help her study," convinces her to break into her parents' liquor cabinet, gets her drunk, pops her cherry with zero to no foreplay, goes home, tells his friends about it, and pretends she doesn't exist the next time he sees her at school.

I see what you're saying. However, I think that some men are starting to realize as the poster you quoted wrote, marriage is more expensive monetarily than not being married. And by that I mean the divorce will cost you more in the long run than not being married. I look at my friend whom just finalized a divorce and the man is paying out the wazoo for alimony and child support. The relationship was also a emotional burden on him with scars that he still carries today. I can get a study to say anything I want it to say. Doesn't mean much in the real world.
But you are right in that everyone does not have equal choices in life. Such is life. However, when everything is even as should be the case with Average Joe and Plain Jane there shouldn't be any discrepancy but there is.
