Sierra and cpg she has a roommate, what if the roommate opened the door?
knocking on the door is risky and i could end up with embarrassment. I am a patient man, so I can wait.

when she said I have a roommate, she asked if I live alone!

So what?! Ask if his/her roommate is home (since you don't know her name)! You young dudes need to grow those pairs! Now, if the roomie is a girl and you like her better, you may have a problem...

Btw, since you have an elevator in the building, does that mean you have a doorman? He can be a wealth of information!

Sounds like another good sign!

wow, really?

Since they live on the same floor of the building you'd find it "unacceptable" for him just just knock on the door on his way down the hall? It's not like he traveled across town and just showed up, he lives there too

I guess I am just not understanding what the problem is people

SO WHAT if her roommate answered the door??

Just say, hey there I'm immortal (lol), I live down the hall and met Lindsey the other day coming home. Is she around?

What in the heck is so "risky" or "embarrassing" about that?

"He who hesitates is lost"

Dang now I can better understand how some of you younger single people end up so alone and lonely

Don't knock at her door. In fact, pretend that you never saw her before and go with your life as you should. But the next time you see her, and only if she wants to talk, by all means listen attentively. Just don't push it by asking for dates and such; if it's meant to be, soon enough things will fall into place.

lol @ sierra and lovemountains --

I am not hesitant or anything else. your approach is fine, but i just wont knock on a lady's door when I dont even know her name! I am sure I will meet her again in the elevator, and then I will use some of the ideas listed above. and even if i did not meet her again, it wont be the end of the world

Fine... Wait for the next elevator ride - perhaps next year!
