I am not hesitant or anything else. your approach is fine, but i just wont knock on a lady's door when I dont even know her name! I am sure I will meet her again in the elevator, and then I will use some of the ideas listed above. and even if i did not meet her again, it wont be the end of the world
Well, good luck with that approach - hope it pays off for you

I met her in the elevator again today, this time she was with her mom who is visiting with her. I know her name now, and i feel comfortable to knock on her door.

I have made very tasty dessert yesterday, so i like to share some with them saying that I like to know what you and your mom will think of my baking skills

what do you think?

Don't do that... If it were me, I'd find it embarrassing/creepy to have random neighbor guy showing up at my apartment with food.

I say just go over there and talk with her if you are really that into her... Nothing too fancy or deep, but more of getting to know you kind of thing. Approach it like you are trying to make a freind. You don't want to come off as desperate imo.

Something like, "we talked in the elevator a few times, and I came over to just chat some more". Something like that.

I like it. Do it.

I bet her mom will like it too and that's always a good thing.

I did it as a kind gesture from a new neighbor.
