i never go anywhere unless explicitly invited. if someone wants me there, they will make the effort to invite me.

i also will not outwardly ask people about what is going on because if they don't want me around they will just lie about it and when i find out about it later it will just upset me.

Your niece (also 27) insists you are invited - that her mom just doesn't do formal invites.

The person's home is your ex-sister-in-law but all have been on good terms but she has just moved to a new home closer to all.

PS - Have asked for a FB friendship - no response.

What would you do? (I do not want to show up on her doorstep).

(She has 4 children with my brother - 3 of them now have their own homes and one lives in an apartment while going to college).
Weird. You should know the person well enough by now. Why not just call and get info from the horse's mouth 1st? Better to do that then place yourself in an awkward situation.

You weren't invited. I don't do hear say invitations. You shouldn't either. If you go be prepared to feel awkward. If they wanted you to go so badly they would have at least texted you.

Nobody wants you there. You're like steak at an Indian buffet.

Remember the commercial about the guy that didn't answer or didn't get his girlfriends texts?
