I'm pretty young right now plus socially less than average because of years of isolation. So I don't really plan on dating seriously until I'm probably like 19 or 20. At that point I always thought the appropriate approach would be to wait 6 months to weed out all the bad eggs. Those just interested in sex and also I want to have my first time to be with someone I'm going to marry and has proven he's not just interested in getting physically but likes me for me. Plus I know not most guys would wait 6 months which I don't want to be easy to get in bed. At this point I don't have any need for sex so doing it would have to be for a guy I actually liked as a person. Also I don't want to be a statistic that gets an std by 25. So what's the average time period?? Advice? Is this a long period?

Listen to me very carefully. Make them wait until you turn 30 okay?

The average couple should wait long enough so that they are mature and prepared enough for an "oops" if that were to occur.

I have a mild form of cah I'm not likely to get pregnant without trying with medical help. I think ideally I plan to wait for marriage or until I'm 22 or 23 that's when I plan to implement the 6 month wait but yea. I was just wondering if it's longer than average or what?

Until we get home from the dinner party. Before then might cause gossip.

Okay still...why put a number on it?
You might see one guy every other day for 6 months, another guy maybe twice a month for 6 months...do you see how arbitrary this is?

You will know when the time is right. I can promise you that. Follow your gut!

I meant 6 months of seriously exclusive dating. I just want to know it's going to go somewhere serious where I know marriage isn't too far off. My grandparent married 2 months after knowing each other. So I mean I know it's not the same always I just mean if I didn't like get married before 6 months were up then that's what I mean by standard wait. So it's like a month on average??
