I'm a black woman and very curious about whether non black guys tend to avoid interracial marriages with black women because they do not want mixed children?
I guess white guys view Asian and Hispanic women as a safe bet, because the children produced from those unions will still look fairly white, while the child will more than likely be darker if created with a black woman. I think this definitely plays a role in the low IR rates between black women and non black men. What are your thoughts?
I decided to go back to the very first post in this thread and post my definitive response for the OP....
If a crown prince of Europe (Prince Maximillan of Liechtenstein) was open to marrying and having a child (who is heir to the throne) with a Black woman from NYC, then I think that there are many non-Black men in this world (of lesser stature) who are willing to do the same. BTW, the family is worth a reported $7 billion which is one of the wealthiest royal families in Europe.

I have never seen this to be an issue to be real honest.
I have a few friends whom are black women and have settled down with hispanic or white men and have had children and there are no issues..
I am half native american and half irish and my ex husband is white and race and children never came up during the course of our 10 year marriage and we have a child together..
IR is IR regardless if the woman in question be asian, hispanic, indian, native american and so forth...
If a guy really loved you.....he wouldnt care because he loves you and then the child is his. I think this is a interesting question considering the fact that white men/women still rather date each other instead of other races; according to my experiences and the power of wikepedia.com/interracialmarriages.
I thought that we were discussing marriage, or at least real relationships between white men and black women. The only evidence of a black woman's desire that you can find is an example of other races purchasing sex from black women in the hood?

Err...no thanks. If you are going to propose a challenge to test attractiveness, how about asking black women get on a dating site and say they are looking for a relationship instead of a booty call? Even ugly prostitutes can make money. If a man will patronize a hooker, I don't think he's too picky about what she looks like. You obviously aren't talking about a high-end escort service.
I was responding to another post that had a link that stated more sex occurs between ww/bm than the opposite.

Personality differences among the races may also contribute to the intermarriage discrepancies. Blacks tend to have more outgoing and aggressive personalities, while Asians tend to be more shy and reserved, with Whites intermediate between the two.

I guess I didn't know that white men who say they don't find black women attractive,would turn around and then have sex with them.
I was just relating a friends experience,and what I saw.
You know,most men who scream the loudest against something(like some men who scream against homosexuality turn out to be gay men) usually fell a different way in private.
I admit I may be a little ignorant of the subject.

White men love certain black women, like the mixed ones. Some men have a problem with chocolatey-dark skin, for women this doesn't seem to be an issue, although it's actually more of an issue than you'd imagine.
It's always been said that White men prefer the more authentic/darker looking black women. I mean, he can get lightskin and straight hair from a white woman so why would he go for a mixed woman??

Not necessarily. In Spanish, for instance, the word "mulata" has positive sexiness connotations.

It's been my experience that non-black men who like black women like all shades that they come in. The ones who aren't truly attracted to black women will make comments like "I'll date her if she looks like Halle Berry/Vanessa Williams."

Said by who? Like it or not, most men I know say they would be open to dating a mixed black woman but these same men say they wouldn't go for the Venus Williams type. I've never heard of a man who would go for a pure African and not consider a mixed black and white.
Mixed black women are still nothing like white women. They have the allure of having naturally caramel skin, and many have the kinky hair of African American women. Their features just aren't as strongly African.
