Uh, thanks, I'm familiar with the meaning of the word. I was asking more for the context here. Free from violence and "delicate" are not necessarily the same thing in all contexts.
1. Pushover
2. Caring of their feelings
3. Caring somewhat, until pushed
4.Caring but if she/he is wrong you let them have it.
5.Caring but don't always think of her/ him first.
6.Caring but can't say it, only shows it.
7. Gentle? That's for sissies.
I think "gentle" is one of those words that is hard to define, but you know when you see/experience it.
At any rate, I do know when my man is being gentle with me like holding my hand when we walk and then putting his arm around me as he steers me around people or problems on the sidewalk; and when waiting for lights to turn,he will step off the curb first and then take me with him, sometimes with his arm around my waist or more often, putting my arm in his. When we are talking, he sometimes brushes the hair out of my eyes or looks at me with his gentle eyes and just smiles. Now in the bedroom, it can run the gambit! But no matter if he is gentle or "randy", I feel protected by him as I know how strong he is and what he is capable of doing if the need ever arises.
It depends on the occasion and situation. There are times when one must be gentle, and there are times when one needs to pull that hair and slap thata$$ if you know what I mean. You need to know what to do, when to do it, and the right gradient to do it.
