Here's the story..I've been dating him since Oct after we reconnected (I've known him for quite some time). I had minor surgery the week before Valentine's day plus I ended up catching a nasty cold. I was just completely miserable, down and out. Valentine's day came around and he did absolutely NOTHING for me..not even a phone call or text message (to even check up on me) and to make matters worse, my birthday was the next day. I was extremely crushed and livid. He never had an explanation for me so I just ended everything..

Ouch! Sounds like he lost that loving feeling and you were right to officially end things. Sorry
Lame. I dislike it when people hate V-Day and use the excuse of it being a moneymaking corporate holiday to not do anything. It doesn't need to be! There's nothing wrong with doing a little extra to show your lady (or man) how much you care about her. Good decision moving on.

So basically if I do something nice for a SO on 2/13 or 2/15, I should get dumped because I strongly believe V-day is full of and refuse to celebrate it?

Never mind V day. She was sick and had a birthday as well.

Yeah you are taking things a little too literally.

I'm surprised he made it that long. Doing what he did, he couldn't have been much of a partner.
