I had completely forgotten that article, its so humorus that that was normal for its time. I printed out a copy for my brother and he said he attached it to his refridgerator with a magnet...lol
The worst thing about this sort of thinking...........
I'll bet many of us women who were small children during that time will find some of ourselves in it.
Intellectually we may believe and voice a very different picture, but we were conditioned as very young girls to get with the program.
*Not* to the extent of the posted article, but in small ways we take more responsibility to maintain a relationship than we should. Many of us don't have the earning power to make a change.
It exists in a time frame in the article. It exists currently in other cultures.
What a bunch of poop!! Now if you'll excuse me I need to go make the bed and plan dinner.
Maybe we should enact new laws where the price of adultry and misdemeaners would require comunity service work in our homes doing laundry, cooking, cleaning etc.....that way we could all have a servant.
