Chick flicks are dumb and unrealistic, but if it will help you get a nice girlfriend, I'd recommend grinning and bearing it and enjoying some popcorn or a candy bar from the snack stand.

Yes. Go and enjoy the company. An 1 hour and change of sitting in the theater can lead to something nice.
Got to compromise in relationships, Esp in the beginning.

I don't even know what that's supposed to mean?
Chick flicks are dumb and unrealistic? All movies are UNREALISTIC and most are dumb, they're MOVIES, they're supposed to be an ESCAPE FROM THE DRUDGERY OF REALITY.
You're too judgmental without even a reason. You gotta work on that... dude.
[quote=irwin2012;23860072]If a potential female date wants to see a chick flick....what is she trying to tell you?

She's trying to tell you that she wants to go see THAT movie.
Maybe she read the book and thinks the leading man is a hunk.
What does it mean when a guy ask a question like this?
Does it mean that he is clueless about females in general, or just that he doesn't know that some like to be entertained in other ways besides watching football?
Less of a problem than if she initially wants to see "Seven" or "The Bone Collector."
So, go see the movie as it's only 2 hours of your life. If it becomes a pattern, then she lives in a dream world. If she'll eventually see action, drama and documentaries with you, then she's probably normal.
