Phew, for a while there I was afraid I might be pronouncing Raleigh incorrectly but now I can see its clearly nit picking by locals who probably mispronounce it on purpose so they can heckle english speaking people.
Just call it RDU. It's trendy to call cities after their airport codes.

I'm not a "local"...I'm not from here and not here long enough to even be an honorary member. However, when I move someplace new I adopt the way they pronounce their localities.
I'm just sayin'...you can tell who is from the north by how they pronounce the town names. Likewise, when I lived in Western NY you could tell which people were new to the area by the same token.

Eh, half of our newscasters don't pronounce Tucson right 'cause they're fly-by-night operators who are here for a few years... There's no "k" to be heard in it.
