A bunch of words that do not address her post. I was hoping you could. Apparently you cannot.

So please, spare me the 'equality is here' BS. Just because it says we're equal on paper doesn't mean the real world operates that way. I knew when I got into my field that it was going to be an uphill battle because I'm a woman, but I LOVE what I do and feel it's worth it. But equal? No way.
I've been denied a job because I'm female. The boss straight up said, "You're a woman, so I can't hire you." I know--grounds for a lawsuit and all, but I'm just not that kind of person.

side note: I was curious what your moniker meant. You're quite cute!

That is something I think would be good for Women Studies majors to learn--so they can see how the same dynamic can and does happen within some communities--with the sexes switched.

I do think that we'd be lying if we were to claim that men were equally/more oppressed on a global scale.

ETA: You don't need to fly to Saudi Arabia to learn about it. Somehow I have an idea of how oppressed women are there, and I've never set foot there.
I agree, whatever male oppression that occurs in this day and age does not compare to the oppression that women still face in many parts of the world.

I don't think you or I can presume to know the personal reasons each Women's Studies student has for going into that major.

Read an earlier post of mine. I accidentally saw billing rates and saw that I wasn't paid as much as a couple of married people in that particular office for the same job, so join the club.

As for this major, I don't care what the motivation is. I wouldn't date a woman who chose to study this field.

What a woman studied in school has no bearing on if I would date her or not. Fact is, I'd date and/or get into a relationship with such a woman before I would a woman who did not go to college or who did not finish college.

Again, getting paid less and not getting hired are two different things.

The question is so typical of a woman. We would date anyone if we thought there was a chance of getting laid. I think what you are asking is if a man would consider MARRYING someone with that degree.......
