I'm kicking around the idea of getting the snip job done.
What's there to consider...it's $50 (depending on your insurance)...cheapest form of birth control out there!

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I love my kids to death and they are involved with a lot of activities. A lot of the time I'm running from the time they get home until dinner or later. HOWEVER...my entire life does not revolve around them. I go away by myself, we go out by ourselves, when we are talking the kids DO NOT interrupt unless they are bleeding to death, if our bedroom door is closed same rule applies...etc. I do not deal with bullshat in this house. I don't have the patience or the time for it. You want to slam your door, I'll take it off the hinges...bed isn't made, I've taken their bedding before and tossed a sleeping bag on the bed. I'm a mean mom...but that's the way it should be. I'm not their friend, I'm the parent.
I have been doing some reading lately...."the 5 languages of love" by Gary Chapman.....very interesting...and a book about habits...also intriguing. We are creatures of habit. And I think that applies to relationships....who we seek, how we act....much introspection to consider while prepping the garden today.
I do believe your right about habits, good and bad. In my case it's also about responsibilities that we feel toward others, good and bad.
When we feel responsible for someone after years in a relationship or family it's hard to break that sense (or habit).

Chow... I've been thinking about the same thing now that I'm single again. Trying to work up the nerve.
I thought about a poll asking women when they can no longer reproduce. May just stay with the women past that age. Would hate to be a 50-60 something guy with a 2yo running around.
Margaritas and a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader would be a kid combination asking for trouble.
