But do you see what I mean, when someone says that and then your in a LTR and "in love" how do you know if they truly love you or just your skin color.

Just get to the bottom of his rationale. It will either make sense to you or it wont.
Everybody has skin that has a different feel and touch.
I don't think its racist... its just preference.. like I only eat burgers from McDonalds.. over time your taste may change... he might start dating black girls some day.
I have a good friend (white guy) and he only dates black girls. Says that white girls do nothing for him and I certainly don't consider him racist.. but I have told him that he is cutting out a large chunk of the population by only dating black girls...
I think a better question is when black guys who prefer only white women, get turned down by white women, do those black men consider them racist, or just that the woman has a particular preference? As for the question, I really think it depends on the individual. If a person finds that race more attractive than others, fine, whatever. But when an individual starts saying I won't date because they are lazy, loud mouths, always stealing..or any other prejudice statement, than yes that is racist.

Preferences can be racist. But it's a socially acceptable form of racism. No one can claim it's natural for a straight, black man to have no interest in black women. So the obvious answer is the cultural he grew up in. But that's his preference now, so why bother trying to 'change' him? Not a dig at him, he couldn't totally help it, could he?
I think people are too quick to put labels on everyone. "Racist" seems to be the newest label everyone wants to attach for the slightest thought, preference or idea. It dilutes the term "racist" and takes away the power of the word when applied to a true racist.

I always thought racist was discriminating (sp?) against someone because of the color of their skin
