Okay, if you read my previous thread, I pretty much got my answer about this girl I'm talking to going radio silence. Problem solved, I just maintained my cool and she contacted me...talking has gone great, but today something new happend to me.
So we're bantering back and forth (as we have before), light convo. I asked if she ever wore glasses, she said yes. So I said, okay, rate yourself with glasses on, Hot or Not? Of course it's all just in fun. I jokingly told her I rated her at 5 without glasses (she's clearly not a 5...easily a an 8...and for that matter, it's NOT a habit to quantify this, she's beatiful to look at)...so it was more in jest.
She responds: "Only a 5?"
I say: "okay, let me pull a number out of my hat...okay, 7"
She responds:
Then she responds: I'm officially offended. I'm done talking to you today.
I was blown away, because I thought we were playing. This was all via text. I quietly thought to myself that this is a red flag...not sure though.
It's a game, and giving her a 5 is trying to make her feel insecure ... why would you do that- joke around, and tell her she is a 10. You have a better chance at getting somewhere ... LOL!
5 is an insult. You might be a 10, but your personality and charm is a 2. LMAO !
What are you, like 16 y/o? No woman is going to "get" that as a joke.
Are you for real? LOL....who takes themselves so serious to actually care where they rate on a silly scale? I would think someone who's down to earth could easily laugh that off.
Silly topics like this have been brought up before, but in 38 years no one has ever reacted this way...that's why I was curious if it's more indicative to a deeper issue? Why the heck would I chase after someone I didn't find attractive??
No I'm not 16...I dodge bullets here in Afghanistan, so a 10 scale rating seems pretty retarded for serious contemplation.

Idk if she's overly sensitive or just lacking in social skills. But she should've at least allowed you to point out that you were just kidding... You did at least try and do that, right?
No, she is not overly sensitive. You obviously don't know when to quit. You should have gone up to 9 or 10 after the idiotic 5 comment.
Also, even in "light convo," it's very difficult to understand someone's tone via text.
You blew this one.
Maybe I should have blown it...we're still talking. I'm just wondering whether or not she has self esteem issues I don't want to deal with.
