People may try to tell you that money isn't important, but it is. . . and it's a major factor in any relationship. Think you'll survive on love when you're in line for foodstamps because your spouse doesn't believe in "work"? Better yet, who would you prefer to date when you meet two charming men at a bar, both are equally handsome, funny, witty, etc. but one is a surgeon at a children's hospital and the other works at Walmart? Men flash their bling because it shows that they are stable and have a good job, even though they might not have the looks.
For men, it's not as important, but for women, it is a huge deciding factor. If the above scenario was reversed and it's a guy meeting two hot women, most men will say "I'll go with the hotter one" and not give it another thought.

Sure, in the stereotype mecca that is City Data. I dunno if it's true, but from what I read here America is socially 30 years in the past.
Financial viability is important for both partners, especially since things are more equal in the workplace.
I don't get why so many guys want a 'trophy wife' - well I do, to show off, and a hot bod...
LOL...what a contradiction. Any man who has a primary (or even secondary) motivation of choosing a woman basing on "showing her off" is probably not a man most women would want.
And what about you? Do you have a hot bod? Are women fighting over you to show you off to their GF's? If the answer is "no," then your expectation of women is ludicrous.
True, people who put everything into making money probably aren't the most romantic types to start with. Nor are the gold-digging women.
Again I don't want to be offensive to the women onthis board, but these guys are just trying to Have sex with as many hot women as they can. Even if they're gold diggers he doesn't care because he's not marrying them.
Specifically "I let my watch talk for me" and "men settle"
But as for Women he actually wants to settle down with, he's not trying to use the money to "win her over", the money is used to get her attention and notice him when she probably wouldn't if he didn't have the money. To use an example, the money doesn't get him the job but it will get him the interview, An that's all he needs. A chance of opportunity

To be fair, alot of women want or would be ok with being a trophy wife. They just can't get a rich man to marry them.
As for what the man has, if he's rich enough he doesn't need a "hot bod" or even attractive for that matter to be successful with women

The problem with this whole 'objectification of women business.' Other women are often the sisters' own worse enemies. They REVEL in their status as trophy wives as a short-cut to popularity and adoration. Some of them positively lap up the 'objectification.'

However, it goes way over with the rise of gold diggers and materialistic people these days.
Like it or not, the richest men get the hottest women and have a much easier time dating than guys who don't make a lot of money.
That's not the way it should be but it's the way it is.
I wonder how many women have no/little interest in the male body sexually, but only care about status/material goods/how the male makes HER feel.
