As some of you may know, I have had a couple roadblocks happen over the past couple months. A woman that I had strong feelings for chose to blow me off, and admittedly I felt quite sad and depressed about it.

However, last weekend, a buddy and I went to an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) festival called The Electric Daisy Carnival, and for three nights I literally had the time of my life. It's funny, because some friends that I knew who were going there wanted to go there solely to hit on raver women there.

However, I didn't go there for that. I didn't care about the women there. I just wanted to come for the music and spectacle. And let me tell you, I danced like I never have before. Jumping up and down, waving my head around, moving all my limbs like crazy, and not once did I care what anyone thought watching me. I was just having so much fun. And I did this completely and totally sober.

And you know what? The best part is, I met a ton of new people! I was both approached and approached them. I made friends and talked with both men and women, and in the case with the women things came so much easier for me because I was so relaxed and having a good time that I think they could see that. I didn't care about hitting on the opposite sex, I didn't care about whether I looked cool or whether I was saying the right things; all I wanted was to enjoy myself to the music and lights. And it felt GREAT. It's wednesday and my body is STILL sore from all the moving I did.

I know, totally random, but I wanted to share my sheer joy. Also, leaving that event I feel even more confident than before. If I didn't care about people watching me dance like I chugged 4 red bulls in a row then I can tackle anything! If you're having a slump in confidence or dating, I highly suggest doing something as enjoyable as this. Just go with the intention of enjoying yourself, and not worrying about the opposite sex.

@D217: Did you go? It was amazing. I was mostly at Circuit Grounds because I am such a Trancehead.

I don't understand why guys go to parties, concerts or events like this with the sole purpose of meeting women. If you go with that mentality, I guarantee you'll leave disappointed. Just go to have fun with friends and enjoy the music. If you do that, it will show and people will see that you're having a good time.

My coworkers even noticed how much improved my mood was when I came back. A couple said I had the biggest smile on my face and just looked relaxed and happy.

No, but I've been in the scene since '96!

Made life long friends as well as lovers!

Such a great vibe, great music, and great group of people...reminds me of when I was younger. So I know exactly how you feel!
