I'm still on the pill after 4 kids...I refuse to get my tubes tied and I know better than to ask my dh to get snipped
Your hard core. I would be begging to have my tubes tied. I was going to have mine tied while I was still on the delivery table after my second was born, but my then SIL had just given birth in the next delivery room, but their child have sever birth defect and died shortly after, so my doctor wanted to wait. For some reason he thought that would change my mind about wanting more kids. I had it done before I left the hospital. Best thing I ever did for myself.
I was there when my bro. got home from his big V. He was giggling and staggering still high as a kite from the drugs. I dont know what all the whinning is about. I dont remember his wife feeling that good when she came home from the hospital after delivery.LOL.
My DH took the high ground and got the procedure. He didn't want me to go through any more than I already had with the children we have. It wasn't painless for him but he did it and I'm proud.
This post just ruined me on the idea of ever doing this... Somehow I thought this was a painless procedure, and even then the idea scared the begeezus out of me.....

This procedure is like a bee sting compared to what a women goes thru in childbirth - get a grip.
Get over it, whimp. Your wife has endured childbirth 5 times. Plenty of men have had vasectomies and I'll bet none of them enjoyed it, but they did it anyway. I doubt if there is something special about you that would make the experience any worse for you than that of about a few million other men.
Since this thread was started almost a YEAR ago, I contacted Berries to give us an update to see if he went through with it.
I don't think he should do it if he does not want to.
