I like to post on this forum from time to time because I really do find it entertaining (and wildly hilarious) more than anything else, but not that long ago I was reading a post by a specific member here (in the relationships forum) and I realized that I knew this person (and quite well). A certain detail was mentioned that allowed me to connect the dots (plus geographical location) and it was pretty much a given.
I find it a bit interesting, I have no qualms about sharing my views offline about relationships/marriage, no matter how callous they may seem. Although, I would say in my personal world there's a divide, people who only know me due to my craft/performances. The only time these two parts of my life overlap is within my long time social circle. The thing is, what I had observed in this person disappointed me a little, it went against a lot of what I know this person for.
That led me to wonder about other forum members here, have you guys ever noticed a post, with a specific detail in it that led you to believe it was someone you know/knew? (or maybe even something familiar to that person).
Judging by what I read on this forum, I would DEFINITELY not be socializing with the majority, so chances are if there was someone on here that I knew.. it'd mean they were someone I really don't get along with.

I haven't yet, but I am very easy to spot. As those of you who read the automotive section on here, I only drive 70's model Fords. I have the only ones around in several counties. No one here has come up to me yet though.
I know a couple of people off the forums. Mainly those who were friends with me before joining, though. A few people it's been a planned thing (like a forum user who was a photographer - I set him up at a convention I work for). It's never been entirely random; if somebody spotted me out in the real world at random, I'd be completely flattered.
Especially since it'd be more likely that I'd be spotted at a convention.
Not as such. But one poster, based on her posts, lives about a half-mile away from me. I can almost guarantee that she and I have passed each other at the grocery store without even realizing it.
And there are three CD posters who have become Facebook buddies. With one I have had a couple of lengthy phone conversations, giving her advice on marketing her civic organizations.
