A guy could be very masculine and still be gay. What do you think of that? That would not ping your gaydar.
Nope! Not fer the most manly of manly men! We can still even spot those with some basic tests. Ever eat a PBJ sammich with grease under your fingernails and unwashed hands while at work with no running water close? Stuff like that catches 'em everytime.
Ever had to take a pooh in a five gallon bucket and wipe with red shop rags because the nearest bathroom with running water is six miles away? Gotcha girly man. LMAO

What do you mean by the food under a guy's nails? Isn't that a hygiene issue?

Not food...grease, oil, saw dust...whatever you are working on. Stuff like that grosses metro and fem guys out. You don't have a choice, there's no working plumbing and no water supply (ie) lake, pond, river to wash them off. You're out in the middle of a corn field for crying out loud. The nearest public can is six miles away. These were just two examples of "the difference". Said metro guy probably has never stood knee deep in a ditch full of water with his pants, socks and boots soaked either. Sure some metros and fem guys can grow a beard and get a more manly haircut. Fashion, "fluff and puff" and gross things usually catches them though. Here, put this plain jane black Wally Word pocket t-shirt on. "Good Lord, I'd never wear that"! Gotcha!

I've known some gay guys with a very masculine attitude, even construction workers or some other dirty job. Not as many as effeminate ones, but then I don't know because they just might not say so. It's not something you want to advertise if you're working in construction ....... although of course on the other hand, military people are masculine and coming out more, even the combat vets. Go to a veteran's bar and sit there quietly paying attention. You'll see a thing or two.

Depends where. In Chicago or NYC there are probably some that got converted in the pen. It's not the norm though for ones who never met "Bubba".

As long as you wash and clean your hands after your work, you are ok.
I am not attracted to guys who are not masculine, but it the guy is nice and we spent time together maybe... Especially if I thought the kiss had potential and was not bi-sexual.

He doesn't seem metro as much as a classy old school gentleman type. His character always did strike me as slightly camp, for sure, so it didn't come as a surprise to learn that David Hyde Pearce is gay himself. Frasier or Kelsey Grammar, despite having the same poncy interests, didn't really strike me as anything but totally straight.
